John Davis, CEO of Great Northern Corporation, will share ideas about gaining strategic advantage against competitors both large and small. Their vision to “out small the bigs and out big the smalls” helps Great Northern Corp. position itself successfully in a manner that could work for companies across many industries.
About our speaker
As Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Davis is responsible for the overall strategic growth and success of Great Northern Corporation. He joined GNC in 1986 and has helped develop it into one of the largest privately held providers of packaging solutions and point-of-sale display programs for industrial, commercial and retail products.
Mr. Davis became Sales Manager in 1988, General Manager in 1995, President of the Packaging Group in 1997, and CEO in 2008. He became a member of the GNC’s board of directors in 1998.
John has served on several outside board of directors including the Fiber Box Association, for which he serves as Chairman of the Independent Committee. He has also served as President of the Northeast Wisconsin Manufacturing Alliance. Additionally he has served on the boards of the Wisconsin Paper Group, United Way Fox Cities, Theda Clark Medical Center Foundation, and the Bergstrom-Mahler Museum.
John has a BA in Economics from Dartmouth College and an MBA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. John and his wife Kathy have two children and enjoy living among family and friends in their native Neenah, WI.
